Herbs and Nature's My Marvel Taheebo Tea

I am always in search of a good herbal tea. As most of you who follow me on my blogs, I experienced a severe occurence of GERD just the last part of 2009. I stop, no matter how addicted I am, drinking coffee. Gosh! I miss coffee so much that I need to find an alternative the soonest possible time.

In one of my trips to the supermarket I run across this tea from Herbs and Nature. Then I remembered seeing its commercial endorsed by Charlene Gonzales (not that I like Charlene).

I dont put sweeteners to my tea, I just soak it in a cup of hot water. Surprisingly it doesn't taste bad at all, no leafy taste or something to that effect. It is individually packed so you can take it in the office without any hassle. I normally had my tea at night hoping to have a good and sound sleep. I noticed that I dont have any hint of GERD after taking this one and it brings back my appetite, don't know if its psychological or its from the tea but I don't mind.

I'll definitely brew some more tea...Bon Appetit!

Chopsuey anyone!

With the heat of the summer it's best to have some veggies to replenish natural water. This is one of my favorites. As anyone who knows me would agree that I am not for veggies but chopsuey is an exemption. Here's how I do my simple version of it.

You will need the following:
1/4 kilo chicken liver
2 medium carrots (cut into florets)
2 red and green bellpeppers (cut into 1 inch squares)
1/2 small head cabbage
1 pack string beans (cut into 3parts)
1 pack babycorns (cut into 3 parts)
1 dozen quail eggs (boiled and shells removed)
1 large onion (diced), 4 cloves garlic (minced)
2 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon sesame seed oil
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teasespoon cornstarch (dissolved into ½ cupwater)
1 pack Maggi Magic Sarap

Just cut the veggies into bite size. Blanch veggies. In a wok heat oil then add onion and garlic, sauteed chicken liver. Then stir fry veggies add some oyster sauce and cornstarch mix. Add some quail eggs seasoned with magic sarap and that's it! a sumptuous veggie dish.

Dae Jang Geum's Cooking - Behind the scene

I simply love this movie. It doen't matter if I have to read on the subtitles. The theme song of the drama, entitled Onara, gives every justice it needs to the movement and reaction of Dae Jang Geum

Classic Adobo

When asked what's my favorite food, I would always say Adobo. Yes friends, Adobo is top on my list. I can't remember being tired of eating this viand. I can even survive the whole week eating this, though it's not heart friendly.

It's been three weeks now after my husband left for Saudi Arabia and I hardly cook any 'real' food. I started to notice that I am loosing weight (which I don't like) so I decided to bring back the appetite. And what the trick? - Adobo!

As evolution becomes a trend, cooking Adobo become part of this bandwagon. Now there are more than a dozen way to cook Adobo and I should say the classic one is still my favorite.

Here's how I did my Adobo dinner:
I marinated 1/2 kilo of pork into a mixture of minced 1whole head of garlic, 1/2 cup vinegar, 1/2 cup water, 1/3 cup of soysauce, 1/2 teaspoon of grounded black pepper and 2 pcs laurel leaves. Leave for 30minutes until the flavor seeps into the meat. Over low heat bring the mixture to boil until the sauce becomes thick. Add some cooking oil (I choose Canola Oil to convince me it's guilt free...hehehehe) and presto! you have your mouthwatering Adobo dinner. Serves best with newly cooked rice and ice cold drinks of your choice.
